Rivalry Weekend

Tradition in my family is all the guys getting together on a Saturday in November to watch the BIG GAME. Which game would THAT be you ask. U of U vs. BYU. Most of my family root for the Utes, except for my youngest sister who decided to be different and cheer for the Cougars. Yeah, we know she's "special".

My husband - not from Utah, nor anywhere in the west is a convert to this local tradition. When it was time to go back to school he went to the U and spent 4 yrs there getting his degree he was easily converted.

All gathered in front of the TV with chips and dips, soda and wings. It's a grand old affair, that quite frankly rather bores me. Except for that one year the Utes went undefeated - which made for the outcome a little more exciting. (Boo to Florida for taking Urban Meyer)

When we moved to PA I figured I wouldn't have to endure another year. After all we don't have cable and you can only watch the game if you've got Comcast cable. (The own the rights to the Mountain Network, and it's the only channel that will carry the game) HAHAHA! Turns out that just because we are on the east coast doesn't mean the LDS members here aren't interested in the game. So - I am a widow this evening. My dear husband has left us to hang out with the guys from our church, watching the game.

Go Utes!
