Board Games

So for Christmas we bought the girls High Ho Cherry O and Chutes and Ladders and much to D's and my disappointment they were not how we remembered them. In High Ho Cherry O it's not just Cherries, you've got blueberries (which do not grow on trees btw) oranges and apples. Might as well rename it fruit basket. The board for Chutes and Ladders have changed. The pictures and pieces are bigger making the squares smaller. Hard when you have muilple players on the same square.

Why did maufactures feel the need to redesign these games? We buy them for our children because we remember playing them as kids and want to share them with our kids. So many of them have changed. Life, Clue, Candy Land, and now these two. I am hesitant to buy Cootie for fear how much they have changed that. I noticed some of them are available as a collectors edition, for a lot more, but where is the fun in that? Spend that much money on a game and you don't want the kids to play it.

New isn't always better.

I TOTALLY agree! I am disappointed in the new Candy Land too!
